BROOKLYN, NY – Luigi Mangione had an extremely busy Thursday after being woken up Thursday morning in his small SCI Huntingdon cell in central Pennsylvania. Authorities escorted him from the state prison to the Blair County Courthouse where he was greeted once again by New York’s finest, the NYPD.
Two hearings took place inside of the courthouse, including his preliminary hearing. This is where outsiders learned that Mangione was waiving his formal arraignment and his extradition back to the Big Apple. Following the preliminary was the nail-biting extradition hearing. Mangione waived the extradition, making Pennsylvania eligible to sign him over to New York authorities.
National Presse reporter, Austin Ayers, was broadcasting the arrival and departure in Hollidaysburg, PA.
A motorcade from Pennsylvania and New York police cars escorted Mangione from the Blair County Courthouse in Hollidaysburg, PA to near Roaring Springs, PA where he was boarded onto a Cessna 208B Caravan, and quickly flown to Long Island, NY. The air travel is extremely rare, but due to the high-profile case and talk on social media about people attempting to break him free of authorities, the plane was unannounced and landed just 15-minutes after the arraignment.
IvanGTV, a TikTok short-video news producer, was in lower Manhattan broadcasting when Luigi was flown from Islip, NY to Manhattan, NY. An extremely rare, and heavily armed, perp walk took place on the pier in New York City. Mangione was loaded into a black-van. Members of the FBI-NYPD Joint Terrorism Taskforce escorted Luigi. Federal charges were uncovered earlier in the initial flight.
The FBI has charged Mangione with murder, stalking, and a slew of other charges. This changed the court appearance from the city criminal court house on Center Street to 500 Pearl Street.
It was also announced that Karen Friedman’s husband, Marc, will also be joining the Mangione legal defense team. Marc Friedman is representing Sean “Diddy” Combs in federal trafficking charges.
Mangione was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn.
